This is the question everyone is asking because everyone is excited to see what Nintendo will do with their next console. It turns out that Nintendo consoles usually last about 5 years each before they are phased out. Iwata, Nintendo's president, commented saying that they will only release a new console if they can substantially great a better gaming environment for people. This means Nintendo Wii 2 won't come up if it just as better graphics.

Nintendo Wii's biggest drawback is the graphics. Competitors like XBOX 360 and PS3 are able to display HD graphics while Wii is still lagging behind in 480p. Iwata mentioned that the Nintendo Wii could last much longer than 5 years because of the new features in the WIi.

However, Sony and Microsoft could easily implement the features the Wii has for the next generation console. It will definitely be interesting to see what happens in the future.
